A little more about me
I was seven when my family came to America: my parents, my brother, and I. My father had served in the Royal Navy, and he’d seen what wonderful opportunities were waiting here. He was right! That sense of adventure, and of starting something new, has stayed with me ever since.
Today I live in the California Sierra Nevada mountains with my husband. We have two grown children and four grandchildren, who are all the love of my life.
Even though I live in the mountains, the place that inspires me most is the ocean, and everything happening under those waters. I love visiting Monterey, especially the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It’s my happy place, and I lose track of time there. That sense of wonder is what I hope to share with children through my books.
I have taught preschool, kindergarten and first grades in the public schools of the Central Valley and the foothills. I’ve also been active in the home school arena, Sunday schools and Backyard Bible Clubs. Working with children has been my privilege and delight.
A few things about me
- My favorite animals are tortoises and giant manta rays.
- I love historical novels, especially ones set during World War II.
- I enjoy painting, reading, spending time with family and friends, hiking, travelling when I can, and serving God in ways He provides.
Let’s talk stories.
I’d love to hear from you, whether you’re a reader, a parent, a teacher, or an editor.
